Hall of Doors

Sauntering down a hallway
Your hand blanketed with mine
I notice the path is thinning out
And decide to pay it no mind

Suddenly you let go
Run the other way
I chase after you for a while
Sob a plea for you to stay

I come upon some door frames
With wood and lock and all
Finding they're all sealed shut
I continue down the hall

The walls are closing in now
The Light is fading fast
With panicked eyes I look around
For a door that isn't latched

Sliding down the wall
Giving up and giving in
I put my head back with a thud
The strength I had is wearing thin

Helpless looking at the ceiling
I notice a crack of light
Jumping up to investigate
Overcome with delight

For there I found a window
When I thought all hope was gone
I'll look back to make sure you're not there
But then I'll travel on.
